My dad and I might not be as outwardly “close” as it seems like most of my friends with good relationships with their dad are (as, you know, we’re both pretty uncomfortable showing emotion and I’m sure from his upbringing he has daddy issues of his own), and we’ve definitely had issues in the past, but I definitely wouldn’t trade him for anyone out there.
From him, I got all my defining traits; stubbornness, a ridiculous work ethic, a D-I-Y spirit and an undying loyalty. I’ll be okay if I skip getting his high blood pressure, though.
Truer words have never been spoken.

I’m not sure how I feel about Yeezus. “New Slaves” is amazing, and I feel like I could really like “Black Skinhead”, but everything else just isn’t appealing to me.
I can dig that Kanye’s doing something different, and isn’t just sticking with what made him famous, but it’s feeling like another 808 and Heartbreak.
I am okay with this.
It’s always a buzzkill when addiction ends up taking the life of someone you know.
Doubly so when you foresaw it happening for years and couldn’t do a damn thing about it.
